One week from today

Our little baby turns 1... To celebrate her birthday, here's a recap with some of my favorite pictures (& video) from the past 12+ months; one for each month, in descending order. In retrospect, I wish I would've done one of those Martha Stewart onesie-type photos so you can really see her growth, but the sense of humor & style in the Sofranac Madore household isn't really conducive to Martha Stewart's, I guess.

Workplace injury

The time is past due for installing those safety-type thingys (IE: gates for stairs, drawer latches, etc.) that I originally refused. They are not as easy as they appear (see bloodied fingers). Mommy loves liquid bandage & will take any recommendations on how to keep her off the CDs & radio!

Pre-Birthday party

Her Grandpa Ray & Grandma Barb also threw her a fabulous birthday party, while in Louisville. Note to those who's children may soon be turning one: Sometimes loud singing makes babies cry. Those pictures are not for posting!

Back from Louisville

Bea finally got to meet her Daddy's side of the family, as aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, etc. descended on Louisville, Kentucky, to celebrate Jason's Opa's 90th birthday. She had too much fun to bother with sleeping! Here she is pictured with her great-grandma, cousins Aidan & Joseph, googly eyes from Lynn's Paradise Cafe, great-Opa (and of course, Daddy) & impatiently awaiting her flight.

The opposite of cleaning

One of my goals while hanging out here on unemployment was to give the house a good cleaning. Instead, I get this:
There was a part of me that hoped this was the beginning of a sorting-medical-bills-&-old-clothes phase, or perhaps she was thinking of making me a mixed tape! No, instead I observe the pulling-emptying-unpacking-removing-digging phase.

Our garden

Bea isn't the only thing growing around here. It may seem late in the season, but thought you may like to see what's in bloom. Can we interest anyone some extremely hot wax peppers?? Notice me holding her back from touching them...
