Pickin' up chicks

Yesterday we brought 3 precious little "pullets" into our lives/garage. I know, so Portland. They're about a week old & Beatrice has named them Berta (tallest black one w/white chest), Pippi (smallest black one w/white spot on her head & butt to the camera), & Mary Poppins (yellow one).

She pulled her car-seat into the dining room yesterday & for the first time REQUESTED that I videotape her songs. I had never even heard this song until yesterday, but in case your volume isn't turned up all the way, the gist is this:

1st make-up/dress up experience

B insisted on putting on make-up & wearing "high tops" (her word for high heels). Since Mommy's stash is slim (does an old eyelash curler count?), last Friday we spent the afternoon at our friend Lauren's house. We thought we'd top the event off by watching a princess movie, but we couldn't find one. So, we watched the 1985 Care Bears original movie, which ended up scaring her.

1st Trip to the Roller Rink

She took to the skates immediately, though her poor little knees paid a price. We both determined that next time we'll try those fischer-price plasticky kind that you attach to shoes. You might think the only thing that happens the day after Christmas is Boxing Day. That is not necessarily true at the party-that-never-stops locale known as Grammy & Djeda's house. Beatrice was treated to a new dress (and a new aunt) when Uncle Nick & Jessie got hitched in the living room! Happy couple pictured in the middle. Daddy even played the wedding march.
